Ruairi Kelly

Ruairi Kelly
Ruairi Kelly is Wallball in its purest form. Ruairi’s motion is poetic; It is fundamentally perfect and his talent reflects that. Ruairi arrived from Ireland and dominated our Australian Wallball circuit straight away, winning back-to-back titles in each 1-Wall and 4-Wall in 2013 & 2014. Kelly’s shotmaking is outstanding as he can dominate a game with winners on either hand. He is light on his feet and is tactical in his approach, yet he can also beat you with force and winners. Ruairi Kelly when playing Wallball is artistry; Ruairi is the type of player you watch and find a new level of passion and admiration for the game.
Ruairi had a historic 2023 Nationals season where he became the first player in Australian Wallball history to complete the illusive ‘Single’s Grand Slam’ which is when a player wins each of the 3 major National Open Singles titles all within the same year. In April, he secured his first-ever 3-Wall Open Singles title by defeating the esteemed Team of the Century member, Dylan King. Then, in June, Ruairi displayed his remarkable 4-Wall prowess by triumphing over fellow countryman, Chris Doolin. Fast forward to the most recent weekend, where history was in the making. Ruairi accomplished the unthinkable, defeating SA State Champ Brodie Winter, completing the ‘grand slam’ – a remarkable achievement of winning all three major Open Singles titles within a single year.
One of Wallball Australia’s current star talents, and we all look forward to more from Ruairi in the future.
