Roger Papalia

There’s not many handball players more competitive than Roger Papalia. A fiery player who you love to partner with but hate to go against. Roger has a clean underarm swing with great timing and excellent placement, along with a reliable opposite hand and a serviceable overhead.

Roger represents South Australia with pride, helping SA win back to back O’Connor Cup Titles in 2025 & 2026 where he was a vocal leader; getting hyped mid-game, encouraging his partners to elevate, cheering loudly from the stands, and offering advice mid timeouts.

Roger won a great battle in Sydney 2019.. Partnering with a young Brodie Winter in the A-Doubles Final; Roger and Brodie came back from a 17/24 deficit to steal the title. Roger and Damien Winter have also been a threatening duo for the last number of years; making multiple finals including a Small Ball A-Doubles Title win in Warrnambool 2022.
