David is a wonderful player. He brings a graceful rhythm and focus to his matches. On the court his timing is perfect, and he is composed, measured and accomplished. We have watched his determined competitiveness combine with an effortless style. Like all outstanding champions he made it look easier than it was. He is instinctive and intelligent. His game is quick and light and he gets to the ball with assurance and with a plan. David thinks through rallies and we have watched his immaculate hitting combined with a courageous doggedness. David is always a gentleman even as he never gives in. He is gracious and respectful and seems to manage defeat with politeness even when he is burning up inside.

David has deep loyalty to that Big White V Singlet and to handball friendships. He has been a significant player of the modern era and we have cheered at his long range butting and driving passing shots. He is a champion and a bit quieter than his dad as well.
