Brodie Winter

Brodie first hit a handball at the age of 4 against the side wall of the St Kilda Courts at the 2007 Australian Handball Championships in Melbourne. From then on Brodie developed his own game and style at every court he could find to play on. At the age of 11 his game had developed to the stage where he competed in the Junior National Australia Titles in 1,3 and 4 Wall so as to improve his game. Subsequently, Brodie was successful in winning an Australian Jnr Doubles Title with Gio Raimondo. 

In 2015 Brodie (aged 13) played in the 1-Wall World Titles in Calgary, Canada in the 13 and under event; where he reached the finals of the Doubles event playing with an Irish Jnr – Jack Doyle from Ireland. They just missed out on the Doubles Title going down in the tie breaker 11-10.

At the start of the 2017 SAHA Pennant Season, Brodie (aged 15) was playing A Grade Pennant and was very much encouraged by all the then A Grade players to improving his game. Brodie also made his first Rostrevor Cup team the same season at the Australian 3-Wall Championships. Brodie made his first SA O’Connor Cup Team at the 2019 Australian 3-Wall Championships in Sydney.

In 2021, the Centenary Year of Australian Handball, Brodie won the Australian Open Singles Championship at the age of 18 and in 2022 his first Australian Doubles Championship partnering with Phil Greco. In 2023 at the age of 20 in winning his second Australian Open Doubles and being a part of the successful SA Team to win the O’Connor Cup, Brodie was named Captain of the Australian Team.

In 2025, for the first time Brodie won the Singles and Doubles at the 3-Wall Nationals. Furthermore winning his first 1-Wall Open Singles title against undefeated 1-Wall legend Eesa Dotsenko; becoming the first and only aussie to take down the talented New Yorker
