Ben Gill

Ben Gill has been involved with Wallball since Darwin in the 1980s being a youngster taught by standout players such as John Gill (Ben’s Father), Bob Winter and John Symonds. Standing at 6’5″, Ben is always one of the tallest players on court at all times and is known for his unorthodox playing style, which includes a variety of different serves and a willingness to play up close to the wall. He also has a love for drop shots and paddle shots, which add variety to his game. He’s a 1-Wall specialist but just has a great passion for the game in general and has been playing throughout the last 2 SA pennant season.

Off the court, Ben is known for his charismatic and friendly personality. He is often seen interacting with passing spectators and is known for his positive attitude towards his fellow players. Ben has been an advocate for growing the game and has been involved in various initiatives to promote the sport; most notably the Game Development Committee. He has also been active in teaching the youth, including hosting Wallball clinics in schools for children with Lydia Morgan.

Overall, Ben’s unique playing style, friendly personality, and commitment to promoting the game of Wallball make him a beloved figure in the Wallball Australia community.
